Plans to break land speed record at nearly 1700 km/h

Bloodhound SSC was revealed at the 2010 Farnborough International Air Show.  The target is "simple", break the land speed record with its 1000 mph target (its projected top speed is 1050mph or Mach 1.4).

What you see in the photos is the first full-scale model, measuring 12.8 m long. It is estimated that it need 7 km in order to hit its top speed. Power comes from three separate jet and rocket engines with a combined power of 133,000 bhp!
