Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport sets new record

Now, Veyron is already powerful but, Bugatti thought that it may not be enough and thus introduced the Super Sport with 1,200 hp (1,500 Nm of torque) instead of 1,001 hp of the standard version...

So, it's no surprise that the Veyron Super Sport set a new land speed record for a production car reaching 431 km/h! Production cars though will have a limited top speed of 415 km/h in order to "protect the tyres"...which basically means that the tyres cannot handle those speeds for too long. So, the record is 431 km/h... ish!

Somehow, the Veyron never got me excited, not in the same way McLaren F1 did. It may be an engineering masterpiece, but at the same time it's a nightmare in terms of design efficiency. I find Aston's One-77 a much better approach and bare in mind that Aston has much fewer resources than Bugatti...
