Officially official: Lexus introduces its first premium compact model

Photos of the new Lexus CT 200h leaked a few days ago (earlier post) and now, Lexus has made it official. The press release doesn't include anything new, just the fact that it will go on sale globally in late 2010.

The only nice thing I can see from the photos is the C-pillar design, which should provide good visibility.

In case that someone is interested, that's the new Lexus CT 200h...

Lexus teased us in the past with a photo of the upcoming hybrid CT 200h (earlier post), but once again, images from a brochure leaked early and now we have the complete picture. Hmm, in order to put it simply, just another non-exciting car from Lexus.

Power will come from Lexus' HybridDrive powertrain, which uses the same 1.8-liter engine as the Prius, and there will be three drive modes: Eco, Normal and Sport!!! Don't expect much from the later one, it's just a marketing trick...

Performance figures have been revealed in the brochure, but I don't think that many people will be interested in that.

Lexus to unveil CT 200h in Geneva

Follwoing the LF-Ch concept shown in IAA, Lexus will unveil the new hybrid CT 200h at the Geneva motor show, being the first full hybrid vehicle in the premium compact segment.
