The main goal of this assignment was to make a c-segment car, based on the VW Golf V package.





Maserati Galerna



The concept of the Maserati Galerna starts straight from the brief � to design an everyday sportscar that�s a bit smaller than the GranTurismo. Smaller dimentions mean lower price which makes the car more affordable � younger people can buy it. So the main customer will be a successful young man who lives a very active life.



A man that reaches success in his young years has to preserve a certain character qualities, such as: persistence, goal aiming and, in a certain way, aggressiveness. His life usually runs in a really fast way. Even when having a vacation these people choose different sport activities like golf, tennis, mountain biking, snowboarding etc.



All these has to be preserved in a design of car - the style has to be recognizable and aggressive. But it is also really important to maintain traditional Maserati styling cues, such as elegance and exclusiveness.



All these factors influenced the final design of the Galerna. It bears a concept of a compact shootingbrake which can be used to go with friends to a bar or a restaurant or to travel with some certain amount of luggage or to spend vacations in mountains with snowboards, skies or mountain bikes. Classical volumes of a car preserve brands traditional styling cues mixed with grafics which make the car look recognizable and modern.
