Opel presented back in 2007 (77th Geneva Motor Show) the GTC concept, which stands for Gran Turismo Coupe Concept. Many design elements passed to the production Insignia and especially to the OPC version.
There are many rumours about upcoming sporty models for the future, but at the end, it depends who will run Opel, as it may be Magna, but could also be GM. Rumours so far suggest that an Astra Coupe is on the works, as well as a Calibra successor. The latter one will be based on Insignia and influenced by GTC Concept.
